I’d love to invite you into my dorm, but since that’s not possible, here’s a little room tour instead. I’ll start with my side of the room and share how we set everything up.
My “pantry”
One of my favorite drawers holds all my Nike Tempo shorts — they’re my go-to for workouts and warm days. Shannon and I decided against matching everything; we wanted the room to feel grown-up and individualized rather than like a set for eight-year-old twins.
I chose coral, turquoise, navy, and white as my palette. It turned out turquoise is Shannon’s favorite too, so we coordinated rather than matched exactly. Shannon leaned more turquoise while coral became my main accent, and we each added small touches of the other’s color so the room felt cohesive.
We shopped strategically and found most pieces at affordable stores like Target, TJ Maxx, and HomeGoods, so we stayed on budget while making the space feel cozy and personal. Here’s Shannon’s half of the room:

And honestly, it’s a big improvement from how it looked at first.
