These Nilla Wafers hamburger cookies filled with York Peppermint Patties are adorable and fun to make. No baking required, they’re quick to assemble and easy to decorate with buttercream, fondant, or simple toppings like sesame seeds.
They make a playful dessert for picnics, barbecues, potlucks, family reunions, or the Big Game. Kids enjoy helping assemble them, and they’re a hit at summer gatherings and themed parties.

You will need:

20 Nilla Wafers
10 York Peppermint Patties
Green fondant (or green tinted shredded coconut)
Orange fondant
Yellow buttercream frosting (use your favorite recipe)
Red buttercream frosting
Mini flower cookie cutter
Fondant rolling pin
Optional: toasted sesame seeds
2 #2 icing piping tips and disposable piping bags
Directions for Nilla Wafer Hamburger Cookies
1. Roll out the green fondant and use the mini flower cutter to cut small shapes that will become the “lettuce.”

2. Gently press and ruffle the edges with your fingers so each piece looks like a lettuce leaf.

3. Turn a Nilla Wafer upside down and attach a lettuce piece with a dab of buttercream frosting.

4. Roll out the orange fondant and cut small squares to mimic cheese slices.

5. Open a York Peppermint Patty and place it on top of the frosting-covered lettuce. Secure the fondant cheese on top of the patty with a little buttercream.

6. Pipe a ring of frosting around the patty edge to look like ketchup or sauce and to help hold the top bun in place.

7. Place a Nilla Wafer on top as the bun and, if desired, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Repeat to make all cookies.

These are great for kids to assemble at parties. If you prefer alternatives, use green-tinted coconut flakes instead of fondant or orange taffy for the cheese. They’re a simple, creative dessert for sleepovers, camping trips, or any casual celebration.
