This post is brought to you by Wayfair.

Hello, friends! On this cold, overcast day I’m sharing my spring-inspired mantel. Lately I’ve been loving blue—home décor blues, not the emotional kind. I usually lean toward a neutral palette of gray, black, white and taupe, avoiding bold color in my rooms. I love color, but I’ve been hesitant to use it. Recently I started adding small pops of blue to the mantel and I’m really pleased with the result.

Spring Mantel Decorating

A few months ago we added an electric fireplace from Wayfair and it has become a favorite in our home. As a child I loved reading by the fire with my siblings and sipping hot cocoa on chilly days. I wanted my children to enjoy similar moments, but our area prohibits wood-burning fireplaces in homes built after 2004 for air quality reasons. Since our house was built after that ban, a traditional fireplace wasn’t an option. Electric alternatives made the idea of a mantel achievable, and we’re so happy with the piece we chose. It’s a beautifully detailed unit with crisp white paint that fits our décor.

The Ashley Electric Fireplace measures roughly 42 inches tall and 48 inches wide, fitting perfectly on an empty wall in our living room. The programmable thermostat warms the space on cold days, and the kids enjoy the flickering flame effect. Decorating the mantel has become one of my favorite things. I shared our holiday mantel at Christmas on social media, and I plan to share a Valentine’s Day look soon.

This spring mantel, with subtle blue accents, is an ideal transitional display between holidays and the new season, especially for a home that favors neutrals.

To bring a fresh spring vibe, I hung a large wreath from Michaels over a tiled mirror. The wreath adds texture and a soft seasonal touch without overpowering the clean lines of the mantel.

Next I introduced blue jars and vases for color. The combination of neutrals and varying shades of blue feels balanced and refreshing. Using a few well-placed pieces provided the color lift I wanted while keeping the overall look calm and cohesive.

Blue Vases - Home Decorating

Are you ready for spring? It’s been quite dreary here, and I’m looking forward to brighter, sunnier days. Adding seasonal touches like a wreath and blue accents has helped bring a little light into the room despite the gloomy weather.
